UB FIGG Visiting Associate
Internship positions at a private equity fund investing in innovative growth companies accelerating the use of renewable bio-based materials
Job purpose and background
We are looking to hire Visiting Associates to join the UB FIGG team for Autumn 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027. The position is based in Helsinki at UB FIGG’s Aleksanterinkatu office. The duration and timing of the employment will be agreed with successful candidates. The first position can start as early as August 2026.
UB FIGG is a private equity fund investing in innovative growth companies accelerating the use of renewable bio-based materials. We focus on the packaging, building products and biochemicals industries. The first UB FIGG fund started its operation in January 2023 and has EUR 114 million in investment commitments. The fund has a pan-European investment scope and can invest EUR 5-20 million per portfolio company. UB FIGG’s team consists of highly experienced experts in the forest industry, corporate finance and growth entrepreneurship.
Through its investments, the fund helps the bio-based industries to create solutions to mitigate climate change. UB FIGG is a signatory of Operating Principles for Impact Management and reports on the environmental and climate impact of its investments.

Key responsibilities
Contribute to all stages of investment sourcing and management, where appropriate
Participate in meetings with potential investees, advisors, and other stakeholders
Prepare cash flow and return analyses as part of the screening process of new investment opportunities
Monitor and support reporting on the development of portfolio companies
Participate in work with the management teams of portfolio companies, where appropriate
Analyse investment opportunities and market trends
Assist in the preparation of Investment Committee papers and other internal or external presentations
Participate in due diligence processes regarding potential investments, where appropriate
Requirements
Completed internship within private equity, venture capital, investment banking, management consulting or equivalent. Several completed internships considered an advantage
At least two years of studies with excellent grades from a reputable university. A field such as finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics or equivalent is preferred
Exceptional motivation and commitment to perform the required duties
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent written and spoken English
International work or study experience considered an advantage
